Easily Recognizable In Red. Chic and Bold Look for a weekend

I’ve been dressing mono-chromatically all my life even before knowing the meaning of the word. This is a style I have held onto for a long time, that now it’s safe to say it’s here to stay.

I also tend to think am not a bold dresser color wise but my wardrobe disagrees (shy face). Red has always been my go to bold color, I also got some inspo  from (toofierce1), this girl’s Instagram gives me life.

Since this coat is already major, I needed the rest of my outfit to be subtle. I wore my white T.shirt to keep the focus on the red.  I wore a pair of sock boots, which are my favorite pair right now, these ladies do not go unnoticed everywhere I go.  Not forgetting to mention that I have been seeing a lot of red shoes with models which for some reason makes me feel like I’m doing something right.

To keep the red theme going I wore a red suede chain cross body bag and summed up my look with clear hexagon sunglasses. This is a chic and bold look for a weekend.

Effortlessly Stylish

SXGE9760Have you guys been keeping warm? Its been wet and cold for a couple of days now, and this season by far is my best because i get to use my favorite pieces in the closet. However, how do you look effortlessly stylish during this weather? In a world where fashion options are endless, it can be easy to get overwhelmed when deciding what to wear. My closet is a mixture of patterns, colors, textures, and trends—which can be pretty daunting everyday when am looking for what to wear. The little secret here is to wear not more than 3 colors. Not only does this tip help make you look effortlessly chic, it also helps narrow down your options when you’re picking out outfits in a rush. White doesn’t have to necessarily count as one of your colors. And if you choose to wear clothes that are patterned, pairing them with pieces that have same hues will give an effortlessly stylish feel.

Have it your way

Processed with VSCO with p5 presetFebruary is a short month, but it’s got Valentine’s Day, the sexiest day of the year. Can you believe we’re already just a stone’s throw away from our next holiday?(how i wish it was).  Valentine’s Day is a week away and there’s likely to be a last minute dash for gifts and restaurant bookings (not in for the struggle), I myself try not to get sucked into the commercialism of store-bought Valentines and overpriced set menus. There really is no reason why you can’t celebrate with your loved one in an intimate dinner at home – it does fall on a Wednesday after all! Guess am saying this because am not celebrating it.

Anyhow, apply this same simple attitude to your ideal Valentine’s Day look. Instead of going for an overly themed ensemble, show a hint of St Valentine appreciation with items you already own. Red not your color?  Try you’re favorite shade of pink instead or let alone, a decolletage dressier dress like this, It could be one of those dresses that you always wear to dinner,as long as he hasn’t seen it, the effort counts. It will give you that same romantic glow that Valentine’s Day is all about! If you’re celebrating at home be sure to be creative and keep away from doing the same stuff you did last Valentine. Green and Bold

bdcf4403-2d33-4986-80e5-30e8712bfebc-1One of my favorite things to do is “social media stalking” (don’t know whether that qualifies as a hobby), so as i was stalking, I came a cross a life changing status on a friend’s whatsapp story on a “dying woman’s heartbreaking letter to the world“, (get it first class here Holly Butcher). She wrote it a day before she passed on. One of the things she mentioned in her letter was,”There will come a time and all the quotes, messages videos you see on social media that you read and ignore will make sense”,This to me was like a reflecting moment in my life. There so many times when I come across such stuff and not mind them, did it have to be from a dying woman for me to learn? There’s much to learn from her letter, It taught me never to take life for granted, Appreciate and respect everyone in my life, Utilize my time to do the things I love and most importantly, make time for God! My greatest mistake in 2017 was taking time off to figure out my blogging career. For something that I passionately adore, I must say, I honestly dozed off. Truth be told, even as i was off and thought I would research more and come back with better content, I got distracted and almost disappeared. It came to strike me later that instead of quitting for 12 months, I should’ve held on, continued with my work while doing research on how to better myself. Perhaps it was a breather for me to realize how important this is (consolation). We know, a creative mind shouldn’t be left redundant for it gets rusted and also, once time is lost, its never regained.

Now, Today is here, with me having learnt my lesson in Green, and gold Block heels filled with comfort  and the confidence I have with my style like i never left (insert a wink emoji), Wearing extravagant Stripped Palazzo pants with almost ground flowing waist strings, an off shoulder top, Green double-breasted Blazer and corduroy patent leather shoulder/handbag ready for what ever comes my way.24fd6311-9bc3-483a-a9c0-9c78c5d505c3-132f3bf7f-5419-42f3-ae9a-4b89fc64cfea-126ee26d5-9db4-46ba-82d2-472cfc317474-18b8777b3-5862-4d97-9608-570e5eb910b2

My Trip to Arusha

IMG_7282Arushaa!!!!! What an experience. I wish I can describe this trip as good or bad but that’ll simply be impossible. I was there for a day but it was worthwhile. First off, you can’t dose off on the plane because of the beautiful scenery of the hills and their tallest mountains, Mt Kilimanjaro (Highest Mountain in Africa) and Mt Meru ( 5th highest in Africa). Secondly, there these Umbrella-shaped canopy trees that flower during the month of December, the locals call them Christmas trees that are planted at kilimanjaro International Airport and along the way that give you a warm welcome or wish you a safe flight to wherever your going.

For my one night, i stayed at the Beautiful Mount Meru Hotel, Arusha’s famous hotel also known as the “The Gem of Arusha”. The hotel blends stylishly elegant African architecture with supremely luxurious rooms and sparkling water gardens with beautifully landscaped gardens. I usually don’t fancy staying in a foreign country for long because its costly, i easily get bored and always want to get a reason to go back. But for this case, i was there to link up with a friend i hadn’t seen in a while, this was our only chance or at least meet after 6 months, and we weren’t gonna let that happen cos this time, we were closer to each other, also it was the festive season and i had to spend it with my family as it is a tradition. My very short stay at the hotel was incredibly nice because i got to use all the services something i never get to do because am always on the rush to step out and do other adventurous activities in the area. I really like Mt Meru hotel for its atmosphere. Nothing beats space/layout. You can choose to sit outside or inside and get two completely different atmosphere. My room at the hotel had a very beautiful view of Mt Meru. The service of the hotel is great and the people are warm. I would definitely go back to the hotel and spend more time, but with a photographer to capture my moments. The photos aren’t enough to show how beautiful the hotel is, with mind blowing views., Ever been to mt meru hotel, what do you think about it? Please share your views in the comment box below.

Boyfriend Shirt

So we ‘borrow’ men’s clothes. (eye roll) So we like to wear their tees and shirts. (eye roll) SO WHAT? At this point I’m practically ready to raid all my friends’ closets. A shirt per male specimen should be the general rule in any group of friends. Rebecca Do you second me on this?We should all shake on it and get on with our fashion lives. The good thing ladies is we don’t need no man for this trend, unless of course we want to do the trend per se, spend nothing on achieving the look, and nail it 100%. Hence the two ways in which Boyfriend shirts trend can be done: we either buy menswear inspired shirts in a few sizes up, OR we simply borrow from the beautiful boys in our lives. God knows shirts are their uniforms, might as well capitalise on those,Just saying…..

But for this case, didn’t grab mine from anyone,I purchased it and what really drew me to it was the grey color since am trying to change my closet to pastel colors and earth tones. I didn’t want to add other colors so I paired my grey boyfriend shirt with light grey jeans and brown loafer shoes.

Have you ever hi-jacked ur boyfriends’ clothes?  Share with me in the comments box.

Beige becomes Art

Am I the only one who has been going crazy for beige and nude colour pallettes lately? The winter whites phenomena is catching on for many good reasons. First off, beige and nudes are very delicate and feminine, adding that soft and ethereal quality to any look. It’s very subtle yet elegant and classy.

Secondly, it is a a new and refreshing option to the expected all black everything look.

It also looks great on all skin tones when done perfectly. Flesh tone outfits in nudes, beige and pastels have looked good one everyone from Angelina Jolie to Lupita Nyongo’o. I have been obsessed with pastel colours and it’s tricky to pull them off without looking washed out. So execution counts big time when wearing flesh tone colours and nude on dark skin tones especially.

What are your thoughts on this?
