One of the things that I love to do when styling my looks is layer two elements that are inherently opposite yet can still work together. After all, fashion is supposed to be fun and every now and then you have to try some new combinations.
So with this outfit, I layered a long open black dress that I purchased but was a size smaller and wasn’t fitting right, but as mama taught me,”never to let anything go to waste”,I thought using it as a throw-on would be a good idea,as you see,the dark blue jeans and the dress work well together even though they are opposites. Also, the front zipper bodysuit that exudes lusciousness is a great staple that can be worn by itself or as a layering piece.
Welcome back from the long weekend. It’s so far the longest one we’ve had since the year began,(correct me if I’ve forgotten). I hope y’all had fun especially my Muslim buddies who were celebrating Eid al dha. One would think I actually did much but waaah, spent it with my family despite the plans I had made,(typical me).
If you know me,then you know blazers and jeans are “literally my style”. It is satisfying for me because it’s the closest I can have to looking formal taking into account that much of my work is creative, and always in the field. I can wear them 24,7,365, and trust me,you won’t get bored each time you see me. You can acquire that by having different kinds of Blazers from the plain ones,to the striped ones, printed or even florals ones, you will be taken aback by how a blazer maximizes your look without adding much effort,(I can never have enough of them). This is also accentuated with the kind of accessories you layer your outfit with that determine whether it’s casual or formal. Add heels or pumps depending on how convinient it is for you and call it a statement look for the day. Keep it simple, keep it chic!
