Have it your way

Processed with VSCO with p5 presetFebruary is a short month, but it’s got Valentine’s Day, the sexiest day of the year. Can you believe we’re already just a stone’s throw away from our next holiday?(how i wish it was).  Valentine’s Day is a week away and there’s likely to be a last minute dash for gifts and restaurant bookings (not in for the struggle), I myself try not to get sucked into the commercialism of store-bought Valentines and overpriced set menus. There really is no reason why you can’t celebrate with your loved one in an intimate dinner at home – it does fall on a Wednesday after all! Guess am saying this because am not celebrating it.

Anyhow, apply this same simple attitude to your ideal Valentine’s Day look. Instead of going for an overly themed ensemble, show a hint of St Valentine appreciation with items you already own. Red not your color?  Try you’re favorite shade of pink instead or let alone, a decolletage dressier dress like this, It could be one of those dresses that you always wear to dinner,as long as he hasn’t seen it, the effort counts. It will give you that same romantic glow that Valentine’s Day is all about! If you’re celebrating at home be sure to be creative and keep away from doing the same stuff you did last Valentine. Wearing For Sweater Weather

Processed with VSCO with p5 presetToday isn’t one of those days where i get to runt all post,am here to share with you how i wear for the sweater weather(trying to make the chilly weather sound fancy), I’ve enjoyed a couple of cold-weather teasers the past days. Although the change of weather affects me, i love that i get to keep my sweater or jacket on all day long,oh Gosh! If you know me, you know how much my love for layering pieces is, and also, not being a fun of  color blocking so you wouldn’t find me having more than 3 bright colors (don’t get me wrong if its your style), that should explain why most of my outfits are monochrome. Putting this outfit together was so easy thanks to Catchy classy that had me sorted out with these super soft and comfortable trousers, belt and bag, the free-size cozy rugged sweater has always been in archives for as long as a year, i added the belt to emphasize my waist and make my look edgy. My go to style for the chilly weather is blazers and sweaters. Feel free to let me know about yours in the comment box.Processed with VSCO with p5 presetProcessed with VSCO with p5 presetProcessed with VSCO with p5 presetProcessed with VSCO with p5 presetProcessed with VSCO with p5 presetBag, Pants, and Accessories from Catchy classy

Beige becomes Art

Am I the only one who has been going crazy for beige and nude colour pallettes lately? The winter whites phenomena is catching on for many good reasons. First off, beige and nudes are very delicate and feminine, adding that soft and ethereal quality to any look. It’s very subtle yet elegant and classy.

Secondly, it is a a new and refreshing option to the expected all black everything look.

It also looks great on all skin tones when done perfectly. Flesh tone outfits in nudes, beige and pastels have looked good one everyone from Angelina Jolie to Lupita Nyongo’o. I have been obsessed with pastel colours and it’s tricky to pull them off without looking washed out. So execution counts big time when wearing flesh tone colours and nude on dark skin tones especially.

What are your thoughts on this?

No to waste

One of the things that I love to do when styling my looks is layer two elements that are inherently opposite yet can still work together. After all, fashion is supposed to be fun and every now and then you have to try some new combinations.

So with this outfit, I layered a long open black dress that I purchased but was a size smaller and wasn’t fitting right, but as mama taught me,”never to let anything go to waste”,I thought using it as a throw-on would be a good idea,as you see,the dark blue jeans and the dress work well together even though they are opposites.  Also, the front zipper bodysuit that exudes lusciousness is a great staple that can be worn by itself or as a layering piece.

You can  always make something work.

Literally My Style😘

Welcome back from the long weekend.  It’s so far the longest one we’ve had since the year began,(correct me if I’ve forgotten). I hope y’all had fun especially my Muslim buddies who were celebrating Eid al dha. One would think I actually did much but waaah, spent it with my family despite the plans I had made,(typical me).

If you know me,then you know blazers and jeans are “literally my style”. It is satisfying for me because it’s the closest I can have to looking formal taking into account that much of my work is creative, and always in the field.  I can wear them 24,7,365, and trust me,you won’t get bored each time you see me. You can acquire that by having different kinds of Blazers from the plain ones,to the striped ones, printed or even florals ones, you will be taken aback by how a blazer maximizes your look without adding much effort,(I can never have enough of them). This is also accentuated with the kind of accessories you layer your outfit with that determine whether it’s casual or formal. Add heels or pumps depending on how convinient it is for you and call it a statement look for the day.
            Keep it simple,keep it chic!
